I had this idea after seeing a photo of someone doing something similar with pieces of bacon. Then, this past weekend, after going to the grocery store to buy cookie dough and a container of cinnamon rolls, I went online only to find that others had already prepared Chocolate Chip Cookie Stuffed Cinnamon Rolls.
Well, I had already spent $6 on this small experiment, and, to be honest, seeing the pictures of the ones that other people had constructed made me kind of want them even more. One of the nicest aspects about creating them is how easy they are to make. I began by unrolling some cinnamon roll dough and then rolling out sheets of chocolate chip cookie dough with a rolling pin, which I then cut to the same length and breadth as the cinnamon rolls. I then layered the cookie dough strips on top of the cinnamon roll dough, folded it up, and set it on a baking pan.
A funny side note: I've never possessed a rolling pin before. I'd always use beer bottles, which is a wonderful reason to drink more beer since you never want to put a bottle back in the fridge after it's been coated in flour, dough, or whatever you're rolling out. But I have to admit, after eventually biting the bullet and purchasing a rolling pin, they perform far better than beer bottles in instances like these!
Both the cookies and the cinnamon rolls were baked at 350° degrees Fahrenheit, which worked out wonderfully. They also suggested to bake the cookies for 9 - 13 minutes and the cinnamon rolls for 12 - 16 minutes, so I opted to bake them for 13 minutes, which turned out to be just right.
Do you enjoy the aroma of freshly baked cookies? Now blend that scent with the aroma of freshly baked cinnamon buns. Even before I cut into one of my Chocolate Chip Cookie Stuffed Cinnamon Rolls, the wonderful aroma that permeated my entire house made it all worthwhile. When my cinnamon buns came out of the oven, all they needed was a sprinkling of icing and they were ready to eat!
If I had to describe them in one word, it would be incredible. That or it's wonderful. Perhaps I might combine those two adjectives and call them amazious. When you have to develop new terms to adequately describe something, you know it's extremely good.
